Title	Cubic fourfolds: classical problems and new perspectives
Abstract	We will review some classical constructions related to the geometry of varieties of dimension 4 described by polynomial equations of degree 3, called cubic fourfolds. The appearance of many analogies with the geometry of some varieties with trivial canonical bundle will naturally lead us to study the interplay between the geometry of cubic fourfolds and the properties of their derived categories.
