Scaling Laws in the Soil Multiverse
Abstract: Soil represents the most biodiverse habitat in the Galaxy. Spanning bacteria, fungi, amoeba, protists, nematodes, insects, and more, soil is teaming with life and is essential to the air we breathe and the food we eat. The hyperdiversity of this environment poses challenges for our understanding of species coexistence and competition. In this talk, we will discuss the matrix of interactions in soil, how soil texture structures micosites of interaction, and brainstorm mathmatical approaches to resolve ecological problems.
