Texts: B. Kolman, Introductory linear Algebra with Applications, 6th ed. Homework: Homework will be assigned daily. You are expected to work and write up all the assigned problems. We will spend the first few minutes of each class discussing homework from the previous day. Homework assigned for Monday and Wednesday will be due on the next Monday. Lab: There will be six computer assignments using MAPLE. On computer days, we will meet in the computer lab Bldg 129 for the second half of the class period. Lab days: 9-9,9-23,10-7,10-21,11-4,11-18. Midterms: There will be three midterm exams on Sept. 23, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, at 4:30pm. Questions will be modifications of homework problems. Final exam: Thurs., Dec. 17, 3:00pm-5:00pm. Half of the final will be devoted to material covered after the third midterm exam. The other half will be comprehensive. Students must take the Þnal to pass the course. Grades: The course grade will be based on the following score: Three midterms(50%) + computer assignments(11%) +homework(11%) + final score (28%) Letter grades will be assigned (roughly) 90-100 A, 80-89 B, etc. Withdrawls: Until Oct. 23 you can withdraw from the class with no approval at all.
